Highlights from the 2025 France Performance Tour

In June, 2025 members of the Fox Valley Festival Chorus embarked on a performance tour in France. In Paris, the Chorus performed sacred music at Eglise Saint-Augustin and Eglise de La Madeleine, as well as impromptu concerts of movie-themed music at the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre. At the Chartres Cathedral another concert of sacred music was performed.
Moving on to Normandy, the Chorus participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery and gave a recital of patriotic music selections there. After touring the many historic sites on the beaches of Normandy, the Chorus performed a concert to a very appreciative standing-room-only audience at the Eglise Notre Dame de Sainte-Marie-du-Mont in Caen.
Other activities enjoyed by Chorus members included touring Paris landmarks, including the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Champs Elysees, a visit to the Chateau de Chambord, a tour of Caen's Peace Memorial and the Abbaye-aux-Hommes founded by William the Conqueror in 1063, exploring the museums at Utah and Omaha Beaches, a wine and cheese tasting in the Loire Valley, walking Monet's gardens at Giverney, and a farewell river cruise on the Seine.
